I went to college and became a dental hygienist. I enjoy working chairside with patients and have a passion for holistic wellness.
When life threw me a curveball it was time to pivot. Illness forced me to reevaluate my life, and with those lemons I had to make lemonade.
That lemonade has been online marketing for small businesses.
Before dental I was in sales. It all started when I was a kid running around in a big Suburban with a family that sold vacuums.
At first I couldn’t get anyone to buy a big monstrous vacuum with a steep price tag by surprise visits to their door, go figure!
But soon the vacuum family shared their secrets and I too was slinging vacuums. I forfeited the guaranteed $1300 month and went straight commission.
While my friends were flipping burgers for $5.50 an hour, I was lugging around unglamorous heavy beastly vacuums but feeling like a high roller bringing in $4k a month. This was an invaluable experience and taught me regardless of the product the fundamentals of selling are all the same.
Then a successful dental dropout took me under his wing, he was killing it selling insurance. I was fortunate that he became my mentor. I was inspired by his gift for story telling and drawing people in with his genuine nature.
Both the vacuum family and dental drop out had the same secret formula to sales, more on this in a bit.
A lifetime of what seemed like random skills have all came together, from my techy job at Stanford to my past in marketing and sales all merging with dental.
AND, now I am blessed to still serve in dentistry though now in marketing and work with other exciting entrepreneurs in helping them craft their voice to attract their ideal clientele and get more ROI from their marketing efforts.
After my dental hygiene career, I became fascinated with online marketing and dabbled in building websites this gave me a well rounded background in more than just words that sell but also in strategy, like seo and opt-ins.
